Per journalist Matheus Filipe, Palmeiras have opened direct talks with Richarlison over a deal to sign him this summer. The pursuit is being spearheaded by club president Leila Pereira, who is personally leading negotiations. The Brazilian club are aware that Spurs want £55m.

Palmeiras are said to believe that they can reach Spurs' asking price, as they are flush with Club World Cup prize money. They are said to have presented a clear vision to the forward, which includes him being a key player, and retaining the opportunity to play for Brazil regularly.

Richarlison won the Europa League last season but faced an injury-hit campaign, as he was limited to just four Premier League starts. For Richarlison's part, it is unclear if he would be willing to return to Brazil this summer.
