'A pain in the butt!' - Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri opens up on difficult relationship with Roma manager Jose Mourinho after derby war of words

Right after Lazio were held to a goalless draw by Mourinho's AS Roma in the Derby della Capitale on Sunday, Sarri revealed that he considers the Portuguese manager a 'pain in the butt'. He went on to say that while he dislikes the way the veteran manager speaks in press conferences, he admires him as a person.

Ahead of the Serie A clash, the two managers got involved in a war of words as the former Real Madrid coach claimed that the Lazio boss had hardly won anything compared to his own illustrious career.

Speaking to reporters, the Italian said, "We had already crossed paths before the game. I told him: ‘You are a right pain in the butt’. He replied: ‘For that matter so are you!’. I don’t like dealing with Mourinho the media character, but Mourinho the person is great."

Serie A returns to action after the international break on November 25 with Lazio taking on Salernitana in the opening match of gameweek 13.
