  • WHAT HAPPENED?

According to ESPN, the Blues are preparing a bid worth £60 million ($81m) to sign Simons from RB Leipzig this transfer window. The Netherlands international has already made up his mind that he only wants a move to Stamford Bridge this summer, despite strong interest from Bayern and City.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Bayern were looking to sign Simons as a replacement for Coman, who signed for Al-Nassr in this window, but Fabrizio Romano claims that he has already rejected the German champions' interest. City, on the other hand, are more focused on signing Rodrygo from Real Madrid, if Savinho's move to Tottenham materialises.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The Blues' pursuit of Simons now completely depends on Christopher Nkunku's exit from the club, as they need to raise money to match RB Leipzig's asking price for Simons.
