Ollie Watkins 'happy' at Aston Villa amid transfer links despite furious post-match interview taking aim at manager Unai Emery after scoring in Newcastle clash
Ollie Watkins is happy at Aston Villa, according to Fabrizio Romano, despite his furious post-match interview after their clash with Newcastle.
Villa are pushing for Champions League qualification and sit seventh in the Premier League, although they are level on points with fifth-placed Chelsea, and are only out of the top five due to goal difference. Watkins has remained productive this season and has scored 15 league goals in 33 games, while also providing seven assists.
WHAT FABRIZIO ROMANO SAID
Writing in his GiveMeSport newsletter, Romano responded to the question of whether there are doubts over Watkins' future, saying: "No, at the moment no. They’re happy with Watkins and he’s happy at the club. Then if a proposal comes, never say never - as it was the case in January."
