THE BIGGER PICTURE
Manchester United submitted repeated bids for Branthwaite last year but Everton knocked back each offer. And similar to last year, Everton value the 23-year-old at around £70-75 million ($95-101.6m) and won't budge on that as his contract runs until 2027.

The report adds that Tottenham are less in need of a left-sided centre-back than Chelsea, although they are on the lookout for a successor to Welshman Ben Davies - who has been linked with Championship new boys Wrexham.

WHAT NEXT?
With that price tag, it seems unlikely that any potential suitor will fork out that kind of fee for Branthwaite's services for now. But when his contract ticks closer to its expiration, bids may come the Everton star's way.
