Even without Lionel Messi, Inter Miami were the more clinical side in the first half Sunday night - and happy to hit on the break. Venezuelan youngster Segovia opened the scoring after six minutes. Tadeo Allende made it two after 37, running onto Luis Suarez's pass before battering the ball into the top corner.
Segovia put it beyond doubt shortly before half time, a delicate poke past a sprawling goalkeeper to make it 3-0. Suarez got one of his own in the second half, dispatching a Houston side that looked thoroughly outclassed on the evening. Nicolas Lodeiro's late goal was little more than a consolation amidst a miserable evening.
