The Frenchman added on altering his mindset in Madrid and unlocking full potential: "It was more mental, I told myself that I had to do better, I knew it, and it was a moment of 'BAM', it's time to change because I didn't come to Madrid to play badly. Playing well for a month is not enough. In Madrid you always have to play well. It is always a dream to wear this shirt. I have been living a dream since day one. The reason I did not come earlier was not the club’s fault, nor the fault of the Madrid supporters, it was mine. I have won two titles, and I am enjoying my time here. I have also learned about Spanish culture."

Defending European champions Real will be back in Champions League action on Wednesday when playing host to RB Salzburg. Said contest will see Mbappe looking to add to his tally of 50 continental strikes through 79 appearances.
