    THE GOSSIP

Wrexham’s documentary series has also become an award-winning production, helping to grow the club’s fan base around the world, and the plan is to push many more series of that show on the Disney+ streaming service.

  • WHAT A SOURCE SAID

A source has told Life & Style Magazine of why Reynolds is enjoying a personal project in the UK as much as his Marvel-inspired role in Tinseltown: “It’s apples and oranges to compare the these two franchises. [Wrexham] captured Ryan’s heart and that strong connection he has to the place is now allowing him to expand his businesses into new territories and capture entire new fan bases in the process. Even though Ryan has already sold a minority stake in the team, he and Rob are going to maintain control of the club and keep making the unscripted series as long as they can.”

    DID YOU KNOW?

The insider went on to say of Reynolds and McElhenney planning for the future: “That’s the thinking behind expanding into the local beer business there and then importing the product to North America, where it’s going to be rolling out during the holidays. But there’s a longer game he’s playing here too—for all the work he has ploughed into Deadpool, Ryan doesn’t own the character or those movies, and eventually somebody else is going to play that role.”

  • WHAT NEXT?

A fourth season of ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ has already been confirmed, which will cover the club’s quest to bounce straight through League One and make history with a third successive promotion in the EFL. The ultimate goal for all concerned is to one day reach the Premier League, with further investment set to be sought along the way.
