Mohamed Salah fires shots at Arsenal? Liverpool forward posts Instagram picture with Darwin Nunez minutes after Gunners' collapse against Aston Villa

Second-half substitute Nunez was the hero for Liverpool on Saturday as his brace in added time saw his side win 2-0 against Brentford and increase their lead at the top of the table. In the day's late Premier League fixture, the Reds' title rivals Arsenal gave up a two-goal lead as they were held to a draw at Emirates Stadium by Aston Villa.

The Gunners saw Liverpool's lead increase to six points at the top of the table, and they also have a game in hand. To rub salt in their wounds, Liverpool star Salah uploaded a selfie with Nunez on Instagram just minutes after Arsenal's match was over.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admitted that the club need January reinforcements if they are to try and chase down Liverpool in the title race.

The two Premier League giants will be next seen in action in midweek in the Champions League. Arne Slot's side host Lille on Tuesday, and one day later, Arteta's men welcome Dinamo Zagreb to north London.
