United's 15th-place finish last season was their worst in over five decades, and much will rest on Cunha’s shoulders as the club looks to rebuild under manager Ruben Amorim. The Brazilian forward arrives with a solid resume, having delivered 15 goals and six assists during his final year at Wolves.

United CEO Omar Berrada has likened Cunha’s arrival to the influential signing of Eric Cantona in the 1990s, a move that changed the club’s trajectory. While comparisons with a legend are bold, Berrada believes Cunha possesses the charisma and talent to make a similar impact.
