  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Nearly two months on from suffering a hamstring injury while on loan at Aston Villa, the 27-year-old was caught on film being put through his paces in training, while seeming to move freely. While the England international said he was "feeling good again", one X user took aim at the forward.

  • WHAT RASHFORD SAID

In response to the reposted Instagram story, the X user wrote: "Every pre-season he does these photoshoots but then goes to see boxing matches halfway round the world days before important matches! Makes no sense if you are feeling good one month before the season starts."

To which Rashford, who went to a boxing match shortly after getting injured in April, replied: "I'm feeling good because I'm now injury free, pal."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Rashford faces an uncertain future as he is seemingly surplus to requirements at United, Villa may be reluctant to pay his £40 million ($54.5m) asking price, and while the player wants a Barcelona move, that may not come. But his chances of a transfer may be boosted after showing he is fit again after injury.

    WHAT NEXT?

Red Devils academy product Rashford, whose contract at United runs until 2028, will continue to maintain his fitness over the summer as he looks for a new team to take him on ahead of the 2025/26 season.
