'I don't know if Marcus Rashford is going to be the answer' - Former Man Utd star casts doubt on long-term Aston Villa stay for England international

Rashford joined Villa on loan from United in January and has impressed in his initial appearances for the club. The 27-year-old has scored three goals and registered four assists in 12 games, but ex-United goalkeeper Foster has cast doubt on whether he will remain in the Midlands beyond the end of the season.

Foster believes Rashford does not have the physical capacity to hold the ball up, citing an example after he came on as a substitute against Nottingham Forest, and he has questioned whether Villa will be willing to trigger the £40 million ($51m) option baked into his loan deal.

Foster told the Fozcast, via the Mirror:  "I don't know if Rashford is going to be the answer. When he came on in the Forest game the other day, they were 2-0 up at the time and I was thinking, 'What would Rashford's objectives be here?'

"I think when Emery brought him on, he would've said, 'right Marcus, we're 2-0 up and Forest had some good chances in that first half. I'm going to need you to get hold of the ball for me. I'm going to need you to try and get it down and get us up the pitch'.

"There were a couple of times where they went long to him, and he was not willing to stick his head up there. He's not willing to get hurt physically and the ball just came back."

Rashford will hope to be involved when Villa face PSG in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday evening.
