GOALTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Todibo has been a standout performer for Nice since joining the club four years ago, attracting interest from several top teams. However, with the Todibo deal off the table, United have turned their attention to other potential defensive reinforcements. Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite has emerged as a target, though initial efforts to sign him have also faced setbacks. United's £35 million ($44.53m) bid for the young defender was deemed insufficient by Everton, who labelled the offer as "insulting". Despite this rejection, it remains to be seen if the club revisits their interest with an improved proposal, especially given their urgent need for defensive strengthening.

INEOS' ownership of both United and Nice has proven to be a double-edged sword. While it allows for potential synergies and shared resources, it also imposes significant restrictions, as evidenced by the blocked Todibo transfer. The ability to adapt quickly and identify viable alternatives will be crucial in maintaining their competitive edge. The club's fans will be keenly watching to see how these developments unfold and what it means for their team's prospects in both domestic and European competitions.
