Man Utd & rival Premier League clubs on red alert as long-term transfer target Xavi Simons tells RB Leipzig he will leave this summer

Fabrizio Romano claims Simons is ready to leave Leipzig, despite only signing for the German team permanently earlier this year. He adds that the Dutch international is ready for a new move amid links with 'top Premier League clubs' and Bayern Munich, after his current club failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Simons re-joined Leipzig on loan last summer before signing permanently from Paris Saint-Germain in January for £42 million ($55m). The attacking midfielder has been linked with Barcelona, United, and more, but the 22-year-old will not leave on the cheap, with reports suggesting he will cost £67m ($87m).

Simons has scored 10 goals and bagged eight assists in 32 games for Leipzig this season, whereas last term on loan, he scored the same number of goals but notched 15 assists in 43 appearances.

Simons will hope to finish the season on a high when Leipzig, who sit seventh in the Bundesliga, host Stuttgart on Saturday.
