  • Fetcher twins sign for United
  • Previously honed their skills at Man City's academy
  • Will now look to impress Ten Hag at Carrington

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The Fletcher twins, aged 17, have made a significant stride in their careers by committing to Old Trafford, where their father once graced the pitch as a formidable midfielder. Originally starting their footballing journey at Manchester City, the brothers made the switch to United's academy last summer, following in their father's footsteps. The move came as part of a deal reportedly worth £1.25 million.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Fletcher, now 40 years old, has maintained his association with Manchester United, playing a pivotal role as he works closely with Erik ten Hag in his capacity as the club's technical director. It's evident that the Fletcher family legacy is deeply intertwined with the fabric of the club, with at least one of Darren's sons poised to emulate their father's journey into the senior team.

Jack, a midfielder, has already caught the eye of Dutch head coach Erik ten Hag, earning himself a fast-track opportunity into first-team training. Meanwhile, Tyler, a central midfielder, has showcased his talent within the youth setup, garnering attention for his promising performances.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

In a symbolic gesture of their shared accomplishment, Jack and Tyler signed their professional contracts on the same day, capturing the moment as they posed together in matching training attire.

While the brothers have shared a journey in domestic football, their paths diverge on the international stage. Tyler has earned caps at the Under-17 level for Scotland, mirroring his father's allegiance to the Scottish national team, whereas Jack has embraced call-ups for England at youth level, aligning with his birth country's representation.
