Man Utd alerted to Juventus' cut-price Douglas Luiz valuation but face shock transfer competition from Premier League rival that their fans love to hate

Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz could be on the move just 12 months after his arrival at the Italian giants, with Manchester United reported to be one of the interested parties in the 27-year-old as Ruben Amorim looks to revamp his midfield ahead of the new season.

According to GiveMeSport, Juventus have placed a £30m ($40m) valuation on Luiz, despite signing him for a higher fee from Aston Villa last summer. This cut-price deal has also alerted newly-promoted Leeds United, who would see the Brazil international as a major coup following their arrival back into the Premier League.

Traditional rivals from their history competing in the top flight, the Lancashire and Yorkshire giants may do battle for what would be a very smart signing for both. Luiz shone for Villa for multiple years in the Premier League and it is surprising that he has struggled for form since arriving in Turin. If Leeds were to land the midfielder, it would be a major showing of intent by Daniel Farke as his side hope to put an end to recent trends and avoid an instant relegation after winning the Championship last campaign.

Luiz made 175 Premier League appearances in five years with Villa, registering 20 goals and 18 assists from central midfield, including nine goals and five assists in his final season at Villa Park. His experience could prove vitally important to Man United or Leeds, as both sides look to rebuild this summer ahead of a massive 2025-26 season.

With Luiz likely to depart Juventus this summer, be that on loan or permanently, he will be preparing himself for an important season wherever he ends up next. If he does arrive back in the Premier League, he will aim to carry on from where he left off with Villa.
