Besiktas have announced on the club’s social media channels that Bailly is one of five players to have been banished from the first-team squad. That decision has been taken on the back of a disappointing 3-1 home defeat against arch-rivals Fenerbahce.
WHAT BESIKTAS SAID
Besiktas have said: “Our Football Teams General Coordinator Samet Aybaba; He announced that Vincent Aboubakar, Valentin Rosier, Eric Bailly, Rachid Ghezzal and Jean Onana were excluded from the squad due to poor performance and incompatibility within the team. Our work on the new staff structure continues. We respectfully present it to the public.”

Bailley started the loss to Fenerbahce and did little to endear himself to a fan base that has grown disillusioned with efforts in a season that sees their side sat fifth in the Super Lig table. Bailly’s experience was supposed to help them to move forward, with the Ivorian having previously taken in 113 appearances for Premier League giants United while becoming a League Cup and Europa League winner.
