WHAT HAPPENED?
Nunes celebrated his 26th birthday on Tuesday (August 27), and among those who wished him well was his compatriot Fernandes. The two most recently linked up in Germany for Portugal's Euro 2024 campaign, where a misfiring Cristiano Ronaldo couldn't inspire his country to glory. Fernandes sent Nunes a message on Instagram that included a jab at the Man City midfielder for failing to invite him to the celebrations.

DID YOU KNOW?
Nunes has been a bit-part player since joining Pep Guardiola's City from Wolves in 2023, starting only 16 games in all competitions last season. He could be on the move before Friday's transfer deadline, with The Athletic reporting that Atletico Madrid are exploring a potential loan move for Nunes. He wouldn't be the first City player to join the La Liga outfit this summer following Julian Alvarez's blockbuster move earlier this month.
