More problems for Man Utd! Antony features as Erik ten Hag’s side held by Championship club Hull City in behind-closed-doors friendly

Per the Manchester Evening News, United arranged a friendly against Hull to take place during the international break and fielded a makeshift team, including Antony, Donny van de Beek, and Hannibal Mejbri. Manager Erik ten Hag was attempting to build match fitness, but saw his side draw 1-1 with the Championship club on Tuesday, who are currently eighth in the English second-tier.

Antony has endured a terrible season thus far and has made 12 senior appearances, although he has yet to register either a goal or an assist. Van de Beek, by comparison, has played a mere 21 minutes of first-team football this term, so the game may well have been a worthy exercise for ten Hag.

United are currently sixth in the Premier League table but they have won four of their last five league games. Nevertheless, the draw with Hull is likely to raise eyebrows among supporters.

United will return to Premier League action on November 26 when they face Everton at Goodison Park. They then play Galatasaray in a must-win Champions League clash in Turkey; the club are currently rock-bottom of their group.
