On Thursday, Eriksson announced to the public that he had received a terminal cancer diagnosis earlier. The Swede estimated that, in the "best case," he might not have much longer than a year left to live. Before spending a season as manager of Manchester City, Eriksson guided England to the quarterfinals of three major tournaments during his tenure as manager from 2001 to 2006.
GettyTHE BIGGER PICTURE
The former Man City boss received a lot of support from the footballing world after his revelation regarding the diagnosis and the timeline for the cancer.
