Sky Sports Germany has reported that discussions are ongoing between City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, and Frankfurt regarding Marmoush’s potential transfer. The Premier League champions have expressed a willingness to pay €70 million (£59m/$71m) to secure the Egyptian’s services. However, Frankfurt remain firm with their demands of a fee closer to €80 million (£67m/$82m).

The clock is ticking for City to finalise the deal as Marmoush is reportedly eager for the transfer to be completed swiftly to avoid any last-minute complications. However, for now, Marmoush remains focused on delivering for Frankfurt and could be back in action against Borussia Dortmund on Friday evening. City, meanwhile, will travel to Ipswich this weekend off the back of a late 2-2 draw away at Brentford.
