Luxury Miami condo worth $7.5m! Lionel Messi buys FOUR as Argentine GOAT hints at future in Florida beyond stint with MLS Cup hopefuls

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner has been based in Florida since deciding to go chasing the American dream in 2023. At that point, he was lured to Inter Miami by Manchester United and England legend David Beckham.

The Messi family, which includes wife Antonela and their three sons, were able to settle quickly in the United States. The 37-year-old forward has an extension option in his contract for 2026, taking him through the next World Cup.

It has been suggested that Messi could finish his professional career elsewhere - potentially back where it all began at Newell’s Old Boys - but a future of sorts is being planned in Miami. That is because the Argentine icon continues to snap up real estate.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Messi has agreed to acquire four apartments at the Cipriani Residences Miami complex - which is currently under construction. Prices for three of the units are unknown, but the largest sees prices start at $7.5m.

Messi, who has returned to MLS and CONCACAF Champions Cup action after seeing his game time carefully managed this season, already owns several properties in Florida and has previously stated a desire to return to Barcelona once his playing career comes to a close.
