Liverpool set to make opening bid for £45m-rated Milos Kerkez but initial offer unlikely to go down well with Bournemouth

Hungarian left-back Kerkez has been in top form this season and has been in demand since last winter, with Liverpool and Manchester City said to be the likeliest destinations. While Pep Guardiola's side now look unlikely to go for the Cherries defender, the Premier League champions have decided to make their move this summer.

As per iNews, Liverpool have prepared their first official bid for Kerkez, who is rated at £45 million ($61m). However, as per the report, the Premier League champions are set to lowball the Cherries as they are going to open conversations with a lower transfer fee.

Liverpool are already conscious of the amount they are spending this summer, as they have already splashed out on Jeremie Frimpong and may need to spend well over £100 million to sign Florian Wirtz. Additionally, Bournemouth may not be ready to sell cheaply as they have already secured one major sale of Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid.

Liverpool will likely not be in a lot of hurry to get Kerkez's deal signed as their priority at the moment is to complete the transfer of Wirtz, however, they will continue conversations with Bournemouth in the hope of getting the Cherries to lower their asking price.
