According to the Yorkshire Post (via the EPL Index), Leeds have identified Buonanotte as a transfer target for the summer transfer window. The 20-year-old Argentina international had an encouraging campaign during his season-long loan spell at Leicester last year, where he scored five league goals and provided two assists in 31 appearances.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Leeds, however, might face stiff competition from several clubs in Europe, including German giants Borussia Dortmund, who are also keen on signing Buonanotte. The youngster, who is predominantly an attacking midfielder, can also operate on the flanks and it is his versatility and flair that have brought the limelight to the player.

  • WHAT HAS BEEN SAID

Journalist Ben Jacobs has also provided his verdict on the Buonanotte transfer as he wrote on social media: "Understand Leeds hold a genuine interest [in] Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte. However, there’s currently low confidence in pulling off an ambitious move. Buonanotte has several suitors, including clubs with Champions League [football to offer]. [Borussia] Dortmund have held talks and are considering a bid."
