  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Per SportItalia's Alfredo Pedulla, Juventus directors are all set to meet Chelsea officials on Monday to negotiate transfers for the Blues' out-of-favour pair Chilwell and Veiga. The Bianconeri see Veiga as a replacement for injured centre-back Gleison Bremer. Chilwell, on the other hand, could take the place of full-back Andrea Cambiaso, who is wanted by Manchester City.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The English champions have reportedly offered to pay a whopping €70 million (£59m/$72m) to secure the signature of Cambiaso. The 24-year-old's ability to play both as a full-back and a wing-back makes him an attractive option for City, who are looking for a long-term replacement for AC Milan-bound Kyle Walker. Juve's plan is supposedly to put that money towards signing Chilwell and Veiga.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

At the beginning of the season, Chilwell was informed that he had been deemed surplus to new manager Enzo Maresca's needs. The English defender has clocked only 45 minutes on the pitch in the last six months, with his only appearance coming in a Carabao Cup clash. The Athletic reported last week that Borussia Dortmund were pushing to sign Veiga, although the Blues made it clear that they would only let the player leave on a permanent transfer.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA?

The Blues will be back in action on Monday in the Premier League as they host Wolves at Stamford Bridge. It is almost certain that neither Chilwell nor Veiga will be involved.
