Jude Bellingham benched! Carlo Ancelotti drops Real Madrid star for must-win La Liga clash with Getafe

Madrid have announced that England international Bellingham will be among the substitutes for their trip to Getafe on Wednesday night. Los Blancos sit seven points behind league leaders Barcelona but do have a game in hand.

Bellingham has not quite hit the heights of his debut season at Madrid but has still scored 13 goals and bagged as many assists for the Spanish giants in 2024-25. Carlo Ancelotti may be giving the 21-year-old a bit of a breather but Los Blancos cannot afford a slip-up at Getafe, else their league title hopes could be over.

Madrid have six La Liga games remaining of the season as they try and defend their title. If they fail to win the league, manager Ancelotti's future could be in the balance.

After this match, Madrid take on arch rivals Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday, which could explain Bellingham's non-involvement, and then two weeks later they take on the Blaugrana in the league in what may be a title decider.
