29' - MONZA EQUALISE, VARELA! The young Mout slides the ball in for the Portuguese, who takes it, holds off Akanji, turns and beats Martinez with a fine diagonal strike to make it 1-1.
26' - Inter go close to a second: Barella cuts inside from the left and curls an effort just over.
23' - Monza try to respond, but Barella does brilliantly in the area to recover against Varela, who had burst through.
6' - CALHANOGLU STRIKES IMMEDIATELY, INTER 1-0! The first goal of Serie A 2026/2027 goes to the Turk, a thunderbolt that gives Pizzignacco no chance, from an assist by Diouf, who receives the lay-off from Esposito and plays in the Turk arriving from deep. The Monza goalkeeper was not blameless, a powerful shot but straight at him. Doubts remain over Bisseck's position, as he was offside and may have obstructed the goalkeeper's view.
