How much will Pulisic earn with his contract extension? The impact and savings on AC Milan’s balance sheet

Christian Pulisic will remain a key player for Milan. The American forward has also returned to a central role under Ruben Amorim and had been negotiating a contract renewal for some time with the ownership led by GerryCardinale. This morning, those talks finally produced a breakthrough, with a new agreement set to be ratified soon.

But how will the new terms affect his impact on the balance sheet?

  • The current agreement and its current impact

Pulisic's contract with AC Milan expires on 30 June 2027, and his €4 million net salary still benefits from the Growth Decree.

With an amortisation charge of €5.2 million and a gross salary of €5.3 million, the American's annual cost in the accounts is €10.5 million.

  • The contract renewal

Today, Pulisic and AC Milan have agreed a new deal with a contract expiring on 30 June 2031 and a substantial pay rise.

His salary will rise to €5 million net per season, excluding bonuses. With the tax benefits of the Decreto Crescita retained, that amounts to €6.5 million gross.

  • New impact on the balance sheet this season

Renewing Pulisic's contract will cut Milan's annual costs for the American compared with his current deal.

For the 2026/2027 season, Calcio e Finanza puts transfer-fee amortisation at around €2.6 million and gross wages at approximately €2.65 million up to 31 December 2026. For the rest of the season, those figures will be €600,000 and €3.25 million respectively.

Pulisic will cost Milan €9.1 million in the 2026/2027 accounts, €1.4 million less than last season's €10.5 million under the old deal.

  • The impact until 2031

From the 2027/2028 season onwards, the figures will fall further. That will affect the accounts for the years ending 30 June 2028, 2029, 2030 and 2031, when the new agreement expires.

Specifically, Pulisic will account for €6.5 million in gross wages (€5 million net plus the Growth Decree) and an amortisation charge of €0.6 million.

That brings the total to €7.1 million, €3.4 million less than the annual cost of his current wages.
