The Three Lions have made a positive start to their qualification campaign under Thomas Tuchel, and will be looking to maintain their 100 per cent record when facing European minnows Andorra on Saturday.

During the build up to that game, the England squad have been readying themselves for potentially testing conditions in North America next summer. Temperatures in the United States could soar above 30 degrees Celsius, while humidity must also be factored into the equation.

Superstars such as Kane and Jude Bellingham have been asked to perform 45-minute, high-intensity bike sessions inside a 36°C tent, with scientists and medical staff able to use real-time data in order to monitor performance.

The Daily Mail reports that pills, which cost just £60 each, are also being used to record body temperature and heart rate. The electronic devices travel through the gastrointestinal tract and allow decisions to be made on individual hydration and recovery.

Said technology has previously been used at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, in a bid to prevent exhaustion, and could prove to be a useful tool as England seek to bring their 60-year wait for international honours in the men’s game to a close.
