Earlier this week, Southgate also released Tottenham Hotspur's James Maddison from the squad. DID YOU KNOW?

Normally, Southgate would have had to release 10 players from his 33-man squad, however, last month, UEFA announced their decision to increase squad sizes from 23 to 26. This change came after UEFA received requests from multiple coaches and national associations, to ease the demands placed on players due to fixture congestion.
