Getty Images SportTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Since leaving Liverpool in 2023, Oxlade‑Chamberlain has failed to replicate his best form, registering only five goals and one assist in 50 appearances for Besiktas. That tally, coupled with recurring fitness issues and managerial changes, nine different coaches over two years, prevented him from establishing himself in the Turkish Super Lig. Now, the former England international could once again find himself plying his trade on British shores after a flop spell in Istanbul.

Manager Daniel Farke is under pressure to assemble a squad capable of surviving in the Premier League. With substantial investment already made, Leeds may be hoping that Oxlade‑Chamberlain’s experience can boost their chances. They will face AC Milan in their final friendly before opening the 2025-26 Premier League season at home to Everton on August 18.
