FIFA announces eight host cities and stadiums for 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil

FIFA has announced the eight cities and stadiums that will host matches at the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) nominated 12 cities to host the tournament, and the eight chose were announced Wednesday.

The eight cities include Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador and Sao Paulo. Belem, Cuiaba, Manaus and Natal all missed out.

All eight selected also hosted matches at the 2014 FIFA Men's World Cup.

"The host cities chosen by FIFA already have modern stadiums and training centers to welcome players and fans from all over the world," said CBF president Ednaldo Rodrigues.

"In addition, they offer an excellent hotel network and efficient urban infrastructure, with ready-made mobility systems, security and public services to provide what an event of this magnitude requires."

It is still unknown which city and venue will host the 2027 final, but the iconic Maracana in Rio de Janeiro hosted the men's final in 1950 and in 2014.

It’s wonderful for women’s football and for the global growth of our sport in general. For the host cities, there is going to be such an immense impact from hosting the biggest women’s sporting event on the planet – in terms of growing the sport and the visibility. What is very, very special about the FIFA Women’s World Cup is that it’s the stage where heroes are made and champions are crowned," FIFA Chief Football Officer Jill Ellis said.

The 32-team tournament will be held between June 24 and July 25 in 2027 across Brazil.
