    THE BIGGER PICTURE

According to the Record, Arsenal officials have been in talks in Lisbon since Friday and have reportedly submitted a verbal offer of €65 million (£56m/$76.5m) in fixed fee plus a potential €15m (£13m/$18m) in bonus payments, which meets Sporting's original demand of €80m. The Liga Portugal side, however, are demanding €70m (£60m/$82m) as the fixed amount and the remaining €10m (£9m/$12m) in add-ons.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Meanwhile, Record add that negotiations with both RB Leipzig and Sesko have been too complicated, forcing Arsenal to turn elsewhere. A Bola has further claimed that Arsenal could consider making the remaining €5m in bonuses so easy to achieve so that it can be considered as good as a fixed fee by Sporting.

    WHAT NEXT FOR GYOKERES?

Gyokeres was originally scheduled to join the Sporting's camp for pre-season on July 1, which was postponed to July 7 due to his international commitments in June. It has now been further delayed to the 11th, however, the striker is unlikely to return to Lisbon as he is mentally prepared for the Arsenal switch.
