FCSB boss Gigi Becali has revealed what made it easy to sign former Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyabonga Ngezana.&nbsp;The Romanian Super Liga side paid the Soweto giants a fee of €600, 000 to secure the Bafana Bafana defender's <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/news/siyabonga-ngezana-kaizer-chiefs-confirm-defender-s-move-to-romanian-outfit-fotbal-club-fcsb/blt3dde1c9311053e91" target="_blank">signature in July 2023.&nbsp;</a>Surprisingly, Bacali admitted that he was clueless about the Amakhosi Academy graduate.However, he reveals that after the club's coach Elias Charalambous and other club officials likened Ngezana to Argentinian legend Diego Maradona, it was easy for him to bring him to the team.&nbsp;

“I am in the scouting process. I’ll take it, you’re no good, go home! I will also give you money,” Becali told Digi Sport, as quoted by <a href="https://www.idiskitimes.co.za/sa-stars-abroad/ngezana-likened-to-maradona-type-signing/#google_vignette" target="_blank">iDiski Times.&nbsp;</a>“I didn’t see [Siyabonga] Ngezana, but MM [Mihai Stoica] Sporting Director, he watched with Mihai Pintilii [assistant coach] and Charalambous. He [Stoica] told me that ‘it’s Maradona’. He’s a good footballer.”

Becali's words arrive amid a great moment for Ngezana and the team, who find themselves under the spotlight after<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/siyabonga-ngezana-fcsb-defender-wins-romanian-superliga-title-and-grabs-uefa-champions-league-ticket/blt30cdfa6c850c82ea" target="_blank"> recently winning the league.&nbsp;</a>This was the 26-year-old's first major silverware after spending almost eight years without winning any major trophy at the Glamour Boys.Being likened to the world-celebrated football icon will probably add more confidence to the player as looks to make more waves in Europe.

Ngezana has already attracted interest from several teams in Europe, <a href="https://www.goal.com/lists/ex-kaizer-chiefs-star-siyabonga-ngezana-named-in-romanian-superliga-team-of-the-week-amidst-interest-from-france/bltaea1fdc69dae4ee3" target="_blank">including French Ligue 1 side Lorient</a>. And he will be hoping to secure a move soon.&nbsp;In the meantime, the Bafana centre-back will have to focus on the Championship playoffs, as they are eying to play the UEFA Champions League next season.
