A clip of ex-England international Lingard orchestrating supporters at the end of a positive display from FC Seoul has been posted on social media. It sees the former Manchester United star revving up those in the stands with a performance that sees him take centre stage.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
As Lingard’s club colleagues watch on behind him, the 31-year-old playmaker raises the volume of the crowed before then quietening them down. He then proceeds to mimic knocking a golf ball into the group of fans, which completes the routine and allows proper celebrations to begin.
WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING
Lingard’s antics in South Korea have not been well received by everybody, with @M05es telling the charismatic midfielder that he is a “complete moron”. @LeahRayAFC adds that the elaborate celebration is “so cringe”, while @No1_REVENANT suggests that Lingard has “finally found his level”. Another critic, @abdul_tobiloba2, says: “Dancing. That's all he wanted to do. Just needed an excuse to wear shorts.”

While Lingard’s behaviour may not be to everybody’s taste, he is playing with a smile on his face again in the Far East. End product has returned to his game, as goals and assists flow once more, and he is tied to a two-year contract with Seoul that includes the option for a further 12-month extension.
