Erik ten Hag spotted for the first time since Man Utd sacking as Dutchman tries to hide before returning to Netherlands

The Dutchman's time at Old Trafford was brought to an end on Monday after over two years in charge amid his team's dismal performances and results so far this season. The Red Devils have won just four games in all competitions and were beaten 2-1 by West Ham on the eve of Ten Hag's dismissal.

After Ten Hag was let go by the United chiefs, he dipped out of the Carrington base in the back of a car, and seemingly bowed his head as the press snapped pictures of him.

The ex-Ajax coach will not remain in England for long as the Mirrorreports he will soon return to Netherlands having won two trophies - the FA Cup and Carabao Cup - since arriving in Manchester in the summer of 2022. His assistant manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy, will take over as interim coach for now.

Ten Hag insisted at the end of last season that he would simply go to another club to win trophies should he be sacked. United, meanwhile, must begin their search for his replacement, though they have been told reported target Xavi has no interest in taking on the job, while their former target Thomas Tuchel is out of reach after being appointed England manager.
