Douglas Luiz set for Premier League return? Juventus outcast flirts with Newcastle and Nottingham Forest as struggling midfielder seeks way out of miserable Serie A spell
Luiz's transfer from Aston Villa to Juventus was backed by his impressive season in England in which he scored 10 goals and provided as many assists in 53 games for the club. Luiz went on to sign for the Serie A club for €50 million ($57m/£42) in 2024. However, the Brazilian wasn't able to hit the same form for Juve producing no goals or assists and only playing 832 minutes for the club. Comolli feels the player does not put in enough effort with little to no running and even less work-rate during chases.

Juventus reportedly are interested in Newcastle's Sandro Tonali. The ex-Milan midfielder has been excellent for the Magpies for the time he has been on-field for them. However, it would take more than just Luiz going the other way for Juve to get their hands on the Italian.
