Manchester City headed into the summer transfer window with a clear goal: to strengthen the squad after a disappointing season by their high standards.

Despite finishing third in the Premier League, there were concerns about potentially missing out on a Champions League spot, and even speculation surrounding Pep Guardiola's future.

    Manchester City have one of the strongest squads in the Premier League, but there is still room for improvement, if the transfer rumours are to be believed. 

    Indeed, Guardiola's side have been boosted by the signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a £62.5 million deal, which was confirmed on January 9.

    Tijjani Reijnders completed his £46m transfer from AC Milan, while City announced the signing of Rayan Cherki on a five-year contract from Lyon for a fee of €36m plus €6m in potential add-ons.

    Additionally, Rayan Ait-Nouri completed a £31 million transfer from Wolves. Marcus Bettinelli has been signed as a backup goalkeeper from Chelsea.

    Manchester City signed Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg for £12.5 million ($17m).

    After bringing in James Trafford from Burnley, Man City confirmed the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG.

    Midfielder Jacob Wright has signed for Norwich City for a fee of £2.3m, while Yan Couto's loan from City has been made permanent by Borussia Dortmund.

    Kevin De Bruyne's signing has been announced by Napoli after the midfielder's contract came to an end. Como have signed Maximo Perrone on a permanent deal for £13 million, and as Ederson appears close to his move to Galatasaray, Jack Grealishcontinues to look for a move away.

    The club has included John Stones in a six-player summer exit list.

    Bernardo Silva could reunite with Leroy Sane at Galatasaray, with the Turkish side reportedly showing interest in Ilkay Gündoğan as well. Elsewhere, Real Madrid have set a transfer limit to sign Rodri.

    Goalkeeper Scott Carson decided to leave the club following the expiry of his contract.
