WHAT HAPPENED?
A thrilling four-goal contest saw U.S. internationals Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah help AC Milan secure a point on the road in a 2-2 draw against Lazio in Serie A action.
Milan began things on the opening foot, with Pulisic finding the head of Strahinja Pavlovic off a corner kick just eight minutes in.Lazio, meanwhile, stormed back with two goals in quick succession in the second half through former NYCFC striker Valentin Castellanos and Boulaye Dia. However, super subs Tammy Abraham and Rafael Leao combined for an equalizer in the 72nd minute to level the match.
Musah was introduced with Abraham and Leao, playing the final 20 minutes and securing the result in Rome.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Pulisic has locked himself into the starting XI under new manager Paulo Fonseca it seems, with the American being the lone attacker on the roster to start all three Serie A matches this campaign.
Musah, meanwhile, earned his first start of the campaign against Parma last week, but was demoted to the bench Saturday for the second time this season.
Despite Milan's disappointing start to the season, the USMNT duo have had a strong impact on the Rossoneri's season so far.
DID YOU KNOW?
The Rossoneri are winless through three matches this season, with Fonseca's tenure off to a rough start. The former Lille manager replaced the outgoing Stefano Pioli, who led Milan to a second-place finish in Serie A last season.

The first international break of the 2024-25 European season arrives this week, and both Musah and Pulisic are expected to join the U.S. men's national team for the September window.
The USMNT will take on both New Zealand and Canada, with assistant coach Mikey Varas expected to be leading them on the touchline while reported head coach hire Mauricio Pochettino's status for the games still remains unknown.
The Rossoneri return to action on September 15 against Venezia.
