    WHAT HAPPENED?

Chelsea have put a miserable start to the season behind them to record epic draws against Arsenal and Manchester City as well as a famously bonkers win over Tottenham in recent weeks. Having seemingly solved their goalscoring problems and with new signings beginning to click, Sanchez's sights are set firmly up the league table.

    WHAT THEY SAID

When asked in the mixed zone after Sunday's about Chelsea's chances of making a Champion League spot, the Spaniard said: "If we keep improving every game like we're doing and keep getting points in every game, I think it's possible.

“It's a big ask. But as I say, we've got the spirit, the confidence, the belief and we know the the quality we have, we can get there.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Chelsea have left themselves with plenty to do. With nearly a third of the league season completed, Pochettino's men sit in 10th positions, 10 points off fourth spot. While the Blues' chances remain unlikely, Spurs' sudden injury crisis will offer further encouragement. There's also the intriguing possibility that the Premier League's fifth-placed side may qualify for a newly-revamped Champions League group stage.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA?

Chelsea can draw breath after a frantic few weeks as the Premier League pauses for internationals. When the action resumes, Sanchez and company will face another rival for a top four spot when they travel to St James' Park to face Newcastle United on November 25.
