Blow for Man Utd and Arsenal? Mason Greenwood's Marseille make transfer move for England star Angel Gomes

According to L'Equipe, Marseille have enquired about the 24-year-old - who is set to become a free agent this summer. The report states Roberto De Zerbi's team have now made a contract offer for the England international.

Ever since it became clear that Gomes would not sign a new deal at Lille, he has been left out of the first-team. United, Liverpool, and Arsenal have been linked with the ex-Red Devils player but so far it seems Marseille have stolen a march on the Premier League sides.

Gomes, who could link up with Mason Greenwood if he signed for Marseille, has not played for Lille since March 1 and is not expected to feature in the final games of the Ligue 1 season as well due to his contract stance.

The soon-to-be free agent will watch on the sidelines as his side, who sit fifth in the table, round off their season away to Brest this weekend and then they host Reims on May 17.
