The perfect birthday present! Alisha Lehmann marks 25th celebrations with a goal as Aston Villa rout Sunderland in the Conti Cup

Just a minute after seeing a shot miss the target, the Switzerland international headed into the top corner after a Sarah Mayling cross to give Villa the lead after 28 minutes. The goal comes just three days after the forward's 25th birthday, which she celebrated with a glitzy party.

Lehmann's strike opened the floodgates for Villa as Jordan Nobbs doubled their lead nine minutes later. An Ebony Salmon double and goals from Rachel Corsie and Adriana Leon had the Women's Super League team six goals ahead before an own goal from Natasha Fenton rounded things off

The win sees Villa finish top of Group A in the competition with four wins from four matches. They go through to the knockout rounds while Sunderland may join them depending on how well their results compare to the other second-placed teams.

The Swiss forward will hope to play a key role again when her Villa team come up against Manchester United in the Women's Super League on Sunday. Villa are currently seventh in the table, six points behind their weekend opponents who sit fourth.
