Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal sends out enigmatic 'checkmate' message ahead of Spain's Euro 2024 semi-final against France

The 16-year-old Barcelona wonderkid has had an incredible Euro 2024 so far as he has notched up three assists including one against Germany in the quarter-final. Despite being marked heavily by the opponents, Yamal has found his way more often than not to trouble the opposition defence and before facing Les Bleus, the spotlight is on him.

French midfielder Adrien Rabiot has already warned the teenager ahead of the titanic clash as he vowed to put the pressure of a European Championship semi-final on Yamal. The youngster has seemingly responded to the comments on Instagram as he put out a determined message which exudes calm and confidence.

Without mentioning Rabiot or the French team, Yamal subtly wrote: "Move in silence. Only speak when it's time to say checkmate."

Yamal would hope to open his scoring account against France and knock them out in the process from Euro 2024 when Spain face the 2018 world champions on Tuesday at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
