According to <a href="https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20240406/1002222519/barca-transmite-pedri-intencion-renovarlo.html" target="_blank">Mundo Desportivo</a>, the Catalan giants are all set to approach the player's agent soon as they want to offer him a new long-term deal. Pedri's current contract with the club expires in 2026 but they see him as a future superstar at Camp Nou.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The 21-year-old has had a disappointing outing in the current campaign, having been sidelined with multiple injuries for the majority of the season. He suffered a hamstring injury in August last year and is currently <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/barcelona-pedri-update-injury-recovery-thigh/blta20eea6a4e31ce10" target="_blank">recovering from a muscular problem</a>. However, despite his fitness concerns, the reigning La Liga champions are convinced about the Spain international's ability and thus want him to put pen to paper on a new deal.

The former Las Palmas player, along with Frenkie de Jong, is <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-in/lists/double-boost-barcelona-pedri-frenkie-de-jong-expected-back-champions-league-clash-psg/blt18781ff09ac88177" target="_self">expected to be back in the team</a> ahead of the club's upcoming Champions League fixture against Paris Saint-Germain.
