AFPTHE BIGGER PICTURE
The club is in a race against time to confirm a venue for the league fixture on Sunday. Failure to receive the First Occupancy Licence for Camp Nou will force the match to be moved to the Estadi Johan Cruyff, where the women's, reserve and youth teams play. La Liga has already given provisional approval for the alternative venue, provided minor technical adjustments for VAR and broadcasting are completed. The situation presents a significant logistical challenge, with the club preparing for both potential scenarios.
Getty Images SportWHAT NEXT FOR BARCELONA?
Following Tuesday's inspection and subsequent decision, Barcelona will immediately trigger the complex logistical operation for Sunday's match, including security, hospitality, and ticketing. The verdict will also have major implications for their next two home fixtures against Getafe on September 21 and Real Sociedad the following week. If delays persist, a temporary return to last season's home, the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, has not been ruled out for those subsequent games.
