THE BIGGER PICTURE
During a pre-match press conference, a journalist shared a new festive chant created by Liverpool supporters: "It’s beginning to look a Slot like Christmas." Inspired by the classic 1951 holiday tune 'It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas', Slot couldn't help but laugh at the witty adaptation but admitted he wasn’t aware of the chant beforehand.

When Slot was asked if he knew about the jingle, he said: "No, I didn't know that. Like I just said, I didn't know this and I don't follow how popular I am. If I am or not. The only thing I bother about is the next opponent and that's Madrid. My family is coming over so if I hurry up a bit, I have to do some groceries for them as well and then go home and that is where my main focus is and not the songs they sing for me. Uhh, I thought it sounded quite nice."

WHAT NEXT FOR SLOT?
Real Madrid have dominated the Reds in recent years, winning seven of their last eight encounters. The only exception was a 0-0 draw in April 2021, while Liverpool’s last triumph against the Spanish giants came in 2009. However, the Reds will have an opportunity to amend the record when they host the Spanish giants at Anfield on Wednesday.
