Antonela Roccuzzo shows off stunning mural of Lionel Messi as Argentina superstar's wife takes trip to Rosario to watch son Thiago in action for Inter Miami

Antonella travelled to the iconic footballing city to cheer on her eldest son, Thiago, who was representing Inter Miami's Under-13s in the Newell's Cup. The family’s trip to Rosario, where Messi’s football journey began, was steeped in nostalgia, as the city’s streets are adorned with mesmerizing murals celebrating its most famous son.

On her Instagram story, Antonella posted an image of one such mural featuring a young Messi. The artwork depicts him sitting with a football, wearing a red t-shirt, symbolizing his humble beginnings before rising to international stardom.

Thiago, just 12 years old, is already making waves on the pitch. Donning the iconic No.10 jersey for Inter Miami's U13 team, Thiago played in the Newell's Cup hosted in Rosario, adding a layer of personal significance to the occasion. This number, famously associated with his father, hints at the weight of legacy and the budding promise of the young Messi. The family cheered Thiago on despite the result, as Inter Miami lost 1-0 to Newell's Old Boys, the same club where Lionel Messi began his career as a youth player.

Although Messi couldn’t attend his son’s game in Rosario, the 37-year-old is enjoying some well-deserved downtime following a spectacular debut season in Major League Soccer (MLS). Messi scored 21 goals for Inter Miami, finishing second in the league’s Golden Boot race. He will be back in action when the 2025 campaign kicks off in February.
