Annie Kilner 'very likely' to receive half of Man City star Kyle Walker’s £27m fortune if couple divorce after Lauryn Goodman affair

That is the opinion of a family law expert that is keeping a close eye on the long-running saga. England international Walker is seeing serious questions asked of his marriage after fathering two children with former mistress and ex-Love Island star Lauryn Goodman.

He also shares four kids with long-time partner Kilner, but is paying the price for “idiot choices” that have left his wife mulling over her options. There have been plenty of rumours to suggest that a parting of ways is now inevitable.

If Walker and his wife were to split, then financial assets would be divvied up accordingly. Family law expert Kelly Edwards - managing partner of Edwards Family Law - has told The Mirror when asked if Kilner would receive 50 per cent of Walker’s wealth: “It's very likely - the starting point in English law is that you share equally what has been made during the marriage, this includes cohabitation and so the fact they were childhood sweethearts (and presumably living together for quite a significant period) means she is entitled to share in those assets.”

She added: “The court sees it as their fortune. There is no distinction between the breadwinner and homemaker. The fact they have four young children will also have a significant impact on this.”

Edwards went on to say of how legal proceedings could play out: “Court proceedings will only be long and drawn out if they can’t agree on the division or disagreements about how it is to be paid. There's no need for it to be a long painful process, that’s down to them. Ultimately, they have four young children to look after and so the court's primary concern will be making sure their needs are met. The court will want to make sure she has a suitable home and income and will try to find a way for her to move towards independence from Kyle ASAP.”

Goodman has remained in the public eye since her affair with Walker, making it difficult for Kilner to move on and past that episode. An end of sorts may now be in sight, with all of those concerned seeking some kind of stability in their private lives.
