Amad Diallo's going nowhere! Man Utd winger determined to stay at Old Trafford in January transfer window despite Championship loan interest

The winger has no desire to leave United in the January transfer window despite talk of a possible loan move to the second tier, Fabrizio Romano reports. There have been talks with Erik ten Hag over the 21-year-old's future and he has confirmed he would rather stay at Old Trafford.

Middlesbrough, where where United legend Michael Carrick is manager, were interested in signing the Ivory Coast international on loan for the remainder of the season. Amad, however, has no intention of joining the club as he wants to show respect to Sunderland, where he spent last season on loan. He reacted to links to Birmingham recently, telling an outlet to 'stop lying'.

The former Atalanta star has been absent for the majority of the season so far because of a knee injury. However, he returned to make his first appearance of the season by coming off the bench in the second half of the 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest on December 30. He was then left out of the 2-2 draw against Tottenham last week.

Having missed out on a place in the Ivory Coast squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, the winger will hope to be part of Erik ten Hag's squad when they meet Newport County in the FA Cup on January 28.
