Former Platinum Stars and SuperSport United winger Zongo wanted for rape

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has put out an All-Points Bulletin (APB) for former SuperSport United and Platinum Stars midfielder Masibusani Zongo.

The 26-year-old dribbling wizard, who has been on the books of National First Division (NFD) club Royal Eagles in recent times, is reported to be wanted for a rape case.

The Sowetan has reported that the police attached to Cape Town's Bellville Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit are seeking the assistance of the public to track down Zongo.

“He is wanted for a rape case that was reported in February 2013 and a warrant for his arrest was issued‚” Police said in a statement on Thursday.

According to the same publication, the SAPS said he was 24 years old, but the Mthatha-born Zongo’s age is listed as 26 on his soccer player profile‚ which registers his birthday as March 30‚ 1990.

Last year November, Eagles confirmed that Zongo did not return to the club after being granted time off to attend personal issues.

The former Tottenham Hotspur trialist was dismissed by Platinum Stars last April, after conducting himself in a manner that was deemed improper by the club.
